School Counseling

Our goals for the Eden Hall School Counseling Program are to:

  • Connect with each and every student in the building and provide support for students to be successful during the school day
  • Provide developmentally appropriate classroom guidance lessons for each student building wide
  • Provide individualized student support groups focusing on topics ranging from new student lunches, grief and loss support, coping with big feelings and friendship

Mission, Vision and Philosophy

Our mission is to assist students in achieving their goals, pursuing their interests, and managing their lifelong learning.  To this end, we promote access to equitable, rigorous educational opportunities, develop the knowledge and skills necessary for college and career readiness, and support personal and social growth for all students.

School Counselors use their training and expertise to provide instruction, prevention, intervention, and consultation services that support student learning and growth. The School Counseling Program follows standards of the American School Counselor Association (ASCA) and Pennsylvania standards for Career Education and Work. School counselors assist students in being able to focus and have self-control, take different perspectives, communicate and self-advocate, make connections with others, think critically, take on challenges, and become self-directed, engaged learners.  In short, school counselors help students develop resiliency, the ability to cope and be successful throughout their lives.
