 It’s time to form your BOB team and prepare for the battle! 

Kick-Off Events

Battle of the Books (BOB) Kickoffs are coming!  Attend the optional BOB Kick-Off for your grade if you want to know more:

• Grade 4
  Thursday, December 4, 2025
  6:00 pm in the Eden Hall Auditorium
   
• Grades 5 & 6
  Wednesday, December 10, 2025
  6:00 pm in the Eden Hall Auditorium

***New this Year: BOB Book Swap during the Kick-Off event.  Bring up to two books that you have already read, enjoyed and are ready to trade in for up to two new (to you) books. Bring your book(s) to the Kick-Off event.  Participation is optional.***

Registration

• 4th grade—Friday, December 5, 2025
• 5th and 6th grade—Thursday, December 11, 2025

About Battle of the Books

The Battle of the Books is a team competition designed to encourage reading and to give recognition to those who like to read. Students who attend Eden Hall Upper Elementary School may participate on a BOB team. Each team should consist of 3-5 members in the same grade, and must also have an adult team manager who will attend on battle night. 

Team members read from a list of 8- 10 books selected by the Battle of the Books committee, and compete with other teams on Battle night by answering trivia questions based on the books. Team members work together during the battle to answer the questions. Although one team is awarded first place, we think all of the participants are winners.
